Overview

Are you passionate about
turning real-world operations into meaningful data insights? Join Trench Canada
Coils as a Business Intelligence Intern within our Order Management &
Logistics team — a program designed to give you both hands-on operational experience
and data analytics expertise.

During your term, you’ll
begin by working side-by-side with our Order Management and Logistics teams,
learning how customer orders flow through a custom-engineered manufacturing
operation. You’ll gain firsthand exposure to how we plan, coordinate, and deliver
projects for global utility and industrial clients.

Once you’ve built that
operational foundation, you’ll move into the Business Intelligence phase, where
you’ll develop dashboards, automate reporting, and support performance
improvement initiatives that directly enhance how we serve our customers.

Your Tasks:

Phase 1 – Operations Immersion (Months 1–3)

  • Learn the full Order-to-Delivery process, from sales handover to final shipment.
  • Shadow Order Management Specialists and Logistics Coordinators to understand workflows, SAP transactions, and key performance indicators.
  • Support day-to-day activities such as order tracking, shipment coordination, and documentation.
  • Identify process pain points or improvement opportunities based on your observations.

Phase 2 – Business Intelligence & Continuous Improvement (Months
4–8)

  • Build and maintain Power BI, Tableau, or Excel dashboards that track order cycle time, delivery adherence, backlog health, and logistics performance.
  • Extract and manipulate data from Databricks, SQL databases, and SAP to feed dashboards and reports.
  • Automate recurring reports and help transition manual trackers into digital tools.
  • Analyze operational data to uncover bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Present insights and recommendations to management to support data-driven decisions.

Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations
  • Management, or related post-secondary program.
  • Strong curiosity about both operations and data—you want to understand the process before you optimize it.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel (pivot tables, slicers, lookups).
  • Comfortable writing SQL queries and working with Databricks or similar data environments.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, KPIs, and process performance metrics.
  • Analytical, proactive, and eager to take initiative.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with business consulting projects, case competitions, or continuous improvement initiatives is an asset.

We offer:
  • Be part of a high-impact transformation in a custom manufacturing operation.
  • Apply your technical skills in a real-world environment with complex processes.
  • Gain exposure to end-to-end order execution in a global industrial business.
  • Work in a team that values curiosity, initiative, and data-driven improvement.
  • Competitive co-op compensation and a flexible, supportive work environment.
  • An hourly rate of pay of CAD $24 – $26.
