Children’s Summer Elementary Coordinator

Status: Full Time (May to August 2025)

 

 

Position Overview:

 

The Children’s Summer Elementary Coordinator will provide leadership and administration for the Children’s Sunday morning elementary program (Grades 1-5). They will also assist in our summer day camp program and all summer events for children.

The Children’s Summer Elementary Coordinator will involve managing volunteers, teaching curriculum in an age-appropriate way, and working in a team environment.

 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Define summer internship and program goals
  • Prepare and implement programming for grades 1-5
  • Give leadership to the Sunday morning teachers
  • Prepare summer teacher schedules for the Sunday elementary program
  • Understand and adapt Bible age-appropriate curriculum
  • Lead large and small group Sunday teaching time
  • Assist and support in preparation and implementation of summer day camp
  • Assist and support all children’s ministries summer events
  • Assist with leading elementary volunteer team of summer day camp
  • Recruit and assist with interview process for new volunteers
  • Assist with training summer volunteers
  • Monitor safety procedures as they pertain to the supervision of children
  • Maintain an atmosphere for developing good morale and healthy mentorship
  • Assist with Jr. Youth Premix (Overnight) and Jr. Youth Camp (Overnight)
  • Other duties as assigned by Children’s Pastor

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Deep and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ
  • Servant heart and teachable
  • Supports the Shared Mandate and Statement of Faithof The Peoples Church
  • A passion to help all children discover Jesus
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in a camp setting
  • Minimum 18 years old
  • Proven ability to supervise staff and campers
  • Strong leadership, administrative, interpersonal, and time management skills
  • Ability to plan, develop, organize and carry out camp programs effectively
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • First Aid/CPR Training Preferred

 

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • Vulnerability Sector clearance required
  • Interact with others (children, parents, volunteers, staff) regularly
  • Full time (May to August) – Sundays, 2 overnight weeks for Jr. Youth PreMix and Jr. Youth Camp, occasional Friday nights required
  • Independent and teamwork, occasional work from home
