MOOS aims to identify, connect, and enhance efforts to incorporate principles of sustainability (ecological, social, and economic) into all areas of the University. DUTIES
- Assist in coordinating the operations of the
program and program, which includes:
- Managing resource email accounts,
- Preparing, saving, and organizing project documents and templates, and
- Processing program data in Excel spreadsheets and/or Google Sheets.
- Run consultations with event planners (students, staff, and faculty members from across all units at McGill) and guide them through the event certification process.
- Manage a team of volunteers who contribute to the McGill Sustainable Events program as Sustainable Events Ambassadors, including:
- Training volunteers on their role in the event certification process,
- Coordinating weekly meetings,
- Scheduling volunteers’ consultation sessions, and
- Creating resources for Ambassadors and event planners as needed.
- Measure the results & impacts of the certification programs on the McGill community.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Be a current McGill student (students from all faculties are invited to apply)
- Professionalism – your customer service skills are your top strength!
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Reliable with strong organization and time management skills
- Detail oriented with an interest for getting into the nitty-gritty of datasheets
- Ability to reliably produce high-quality work, on time, with limited supervision
- Ability to keep track of, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks
- Strong team player and people skills
- Interest in sustainability on campus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheet formulas
ASSETS:
- Fluency in French
- Experience managing volunteers
- Event coordination experience
- Connection with student sustainability groups on campus
- Understanding of basic sustainability concepts
