SummaryThe Mechanical Engineering Intern will work a summer or Co-Op work term with Precision Drilling inboth the office and field/shop environments. The intern will work closely with the Engineering team,made up of professional engineers, technologists and operations personnel to develop a practicalunderstanding of drilling rigs and drilling operations.Responsibilities

• Working closely with the engineering team to support ongoing projects throughout Canada
• You will be a full member of the Operations Engineering team, with field/shop exposure as required by projects
• You will be exposed to technical aspects of providing support to drilling rigs operating in the field and/or new equipment designs
• You will have exposure to typical 2D & 3D design software packages, as well as the typical Microsoft Office suite products.

Knowledge & SkillsExcellent time management skillsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsGreat communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work well within a multi-disciplined teamProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointValid driver’s license with good driving recordEducationCurrently enrolled in an Engineering program with a focus on Mechanical EngineeringExperienceDrafting/Design experience with AutoCAD and Inventor (or equivalent 2D and 3D software) is an assetExperience with oil drilling rig equipment would be an asset but not a requirementPrevious experience working in a hands-on and labor-intensive environment (farming, automotive, mechanics etc.) is an asset but not a requirement
