Intern, Sommelier

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the sommelier intern supports wine and beverage-related activities across the restaurant, bar, and various service points. This internship is a great learning opportunity in a dynamic professional environment, offering hands-on experience to grow your knowledge in wine, service, and hospitality.

We have a fall internship opportunity located at Hotel & Spa Le Germain Charlevoix Hotel for a period varying between 3 to 6 months starting this September 2025.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Support the management of the wine cellar: inventory, organization, and rotation of stock
• Assist with updating the wine list and researching new selections
• Participate in wine service at the table alongside the dining room team
• Help organize and prepare events such as tastings and wine-pairing dinners
• Collaborate with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to align wine service with the menu
• Observe and learn service techniques, quality standards, and guest interaction best practices

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Strong interest in wine, hospitality, and customer service
• Currently enrolled in a program related to sommelier training, hospitality management, or culinary arts
• Basic knowledge of wine, grape varieties, wine regions, and food pairings
• Team spirit, curiosity, and a desire to learn
• Professional attitude, punctuality, and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills in both French and English, spoken and written, due to the nature of the tasks and interactions with colleagues, partners, or guests across Canada
