In order to accomplish this, the DAACM team:Determines the economic and financial scenario that feeds into our Medium-Term Capital Market Assumptions (MTCMAs), which influence our dynamic investment activities related to currencies and asset allocation for the Total FundDetermines, implements and manages the Target Portfolio’s desired asset-class exposures and currency exposures by incorporating business cycle dynamics to maximize the probability of achieving PSP’s mandateLeads the rebalancing activities (assets and currencies) of the Total Fund to ensure exposures are aligned with desired Total Fund targetsEstablishes and oversees the Dynamic Asset Allocation, and Total Fund Currency Management (including Dynamic Currency Management)ABOUT YOUR ROLEAs an Intern, Dynamic Asset Allocation and Currency Management, you’ll:Assist in the development of models explaining the returns of private asset classesAssist in the fundamental analysis and decomposition of public equity and fixed income indices total returnsProvide technical assistance to improve forecasting of the economic and financial scenarioPerform top-down macroeconomic research to aid in the projection of global economic scenarios and the assessment of these scenarios on the different asset classesWHAT YOU’LL NEEDCurrently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics, or a related fieldHigh academic achievementSolid understanding of macroeconomics and of financial marketsAbility to collect and analyze large amounts of information and quickly grasp complex issuesStrong knowledge of statistical analysis and programming software applications (Python, Eviews, Matlab, R, etc.), requiredKnowledge of market data collection systems (Bloomberg, Datastream, etc.), an assetCFA/FRM title, an assetIntellectual curiosity, willingness to learn, creativity and openness to new ideasProactive, hardworking, result oriented and a recognized work ethicMust return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculumProficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)Candidates must have the right to work in Canada* for the period specified to be considered for this position.
