Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care has an opportunity for aINTERN, DATA QUALITYHuman Resources Shared Services CentrePosition Type: Temporary Full-Time (12 Weeks)Shift Type: Day, OnsiteBi-Weekly Hours: 70 HoursHours of Work: 7 hrs/shiftPosting Number: 8734Union: Non-UnionDate Posted: March 7, 2025Job Summary:The Data Quality role focuses primarily on data mining, identifying gaps in records, data accuracy audits of historical data, analyzing and interpreting workforce data to support strategic planning, improve organizational development, and optimize workforce strategies.The position aims to provide support to the Data Analytics team in building templates using current technology and informatics to measure KPIs with the HR functions such as employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, and organizational development until the organization implements a HCM system that supports these capabilities.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:1) Data Cleansing and Auditing of Historical Workforce Data:

  • Conduct thorough data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues for historical data.
  • Responsible to ensure that historical workforce reports have been reviewed and audited before March 31, 2025.
  • Execute processes for resolving and documenting data quality issues that are identified during the audit process.

2) Development of Current and Ongoing Reporting Templates:

  • Assist the Senior Data Analyst to establish reporting templates to monitor and improve data quality, ensuring accuracy, consistency for ongoing reports.
  • Work with Senior Data Analyst to identify opportunities to optimize current reporting structures and promote self-service analytics.
  • Review current reports and automate manual data entry processes wherever possible using macros and algorithms that improve efficiency and data accuracy.

3) Future Reporting and Analytics for 2025 and beyond.

  • Assist the Senior Data Analyst in meeting the following deliverables:
  • Design and create Power BI dashboards, executive presentations, and ad-hoc reports, providing insights on key HR metrics. Ensure the delivery of predictive analytics and actionable recommendations to drive data-driven decisions across the organization.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of HR data to identify trends, anomalies, and forecasts
  • Translate complex data insights into recommendations that influence talent management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., data management, information technology, data analytics, business analytics, informatics)
  • Advanced certification in data analysis or HR analytics (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Ability to develop interactive dashboards using Advanced Excel is a key requirement in this role.
  • Strong Visualization skills and ability to create strong presentations.
  • Ability to manipulate, analyze and transform large datasets to understand trends and patterns
  • Proven experience in data quality management, particularly in establishing and implementing data quality frameworks
  • Experience in data profiling, cleansing, and validation
  • Proficiency in data manipulation languages like SQL
  • Programming skills (Python, R) can be beneficial
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing platforms. MS Azure preferred (Microsoft Synapse, Azure Data factory, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, Tableau)
