Looking for an internship that will enable you to play a committed and independent role in the smooth running of events? Are you organized, positive and always in solution mode to respond effectively to various requests? This multidisciplinary internship is for you! 

We have a fall internship opportunity in our hotel located in Halifax, at the Alt Hotel, starting this September 2025.

WHAT YOU’LL DO  

• Take part in setting up and dismantling the lunch area and meeting and banquet rooms. 
• Perform various reception, delivery, storage, supply or maintenance tasks.
• Set up the meeting rooms including arranging chairs, tables, audiovisual etc. 
• Welcome guests and assist them as need be throughout the duration of the event.  
• Set up and serve all food and beverages for the events such as breaks, lunch, dinner, etc. 
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of service areas. 
• Ensure all equipment is stored in the correct manner, in line with all food and beverage/conference and banqueting requirements and health & safety legislation.  

WHAT YOU’LL BRING 

• Currently a student in restaurant service or a similar program 
• Good time management and adaptability 
• Determination and team spirit 
• Good physical fitness: standing for long periods, lifting loads and performing certain repetitive tasks 
• Previous server experience, an asset 
• Organized, problem solver and able to work under pressure
