Health Innovation Intern (4 month internship)We are seeking an Intern for a four-month term to support and work closely with members of the Health Innovation division and other corporate groups at Alberta Innovates on a variety of projects to drive impactful results for Alberta. The successful candidate will conduct literature research, conduct data analyses, synthesize project summaries and contribute to increasing the awareness of health investment impacts to Alberta.We are game changersAlberta Innovates is a provincially funded corporation with a mandate to deliver 21st-century solutions for the most compelling challenges facing Albertans. Here’s some more information about the position:Job DetailsMain responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Write content for various purposes (including reports, stories, and presentations) to convey the importance of the work being done by our investees.
- Read reports, capture key project achievement data and create data visualizations and dashboards.
- Data entry, clean-up, and system mapping to link data into corporate CRM.
- Conduct environmental / jurisdictional scans related to cutting edge trends in health innovation
- Conduct online research and compile resources and tools to create knowledge libraries for our clients.
- Assisting in the coordination and execution of various types of events meetups, conferences, workshops, etc.
- Assisting with event logistics such as venue selection, catering, transportation, supplies, and audiovisual requirements.
- Assisting in the development of event concepts, themes, and programs to ensure successful and engaging experiences for attendees.
Qualifications and skills we are looking for:
- Current enrolment in or a recent graduate of a degree or diploma program in a related field such as business, Health Sciences or Public Health.
- Knowledge of health / life sciences research innovation, and technology. Understanding of technology commercialization would be an asset.
- Literature and data research, analysis, report writing, and presentation skills
- Strong data collection, entry, analysis and visualization (eg. infographics and dashboards) skills
- Strong experience in science writing for lay audiences
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Creativity and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Disciplined, coachable, and resilient
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to learn and stay updated with industry trends and best practices
- Innovative, energetic, and enthusiastic
- Ability to present ideas effectively
- Confident, solutions-driven, adaptable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite, and ideally Power BI or equivalent
- Ability to travel
