Job Description:OverviewAt KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.Our Cyber Security team is currently looking for interns who can join us as early as May 2025!
What you will doAs an intern, you will :
- Effectively interact with client staff and other members of KPMG’s delivery teams.
- Work as a team with clients and other KPMG departments to understand client issues, develop, hypotheses, conduct primary and secondary research and analysis, and make recommendations.
- Quickly grasp the concepts and issues at the heart of the client’s needs.
- Analyze client data and then present findings and suggest areas for improvement.
- Collaborates directly with clients and promotes the development of their financial, human, and operational capacities.
- Contribute to the development of the Consulting Services – Management group in multiple ways (business development, recruitment, centralize information (SoW, offers and reports, white papers, business case, marketing research, corporate culture, community involvement, etc.).
- Assist with real client cyber security mandates such as governance and risk management, choosing their technology stack, security assessments, incident response.
- Assisting clients at an executive level in the creation of a security program.
- Support IT security projects to modernize the state of IT systems.
- Support to create risk analysis and/or threat scenarios.
What you bring to the roleWe’re looking for candidates who are passionate about cyber security, with:
- Excellent undergraduate or graduate academic record, preferably in Data Management, Business Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or any other pertinent technology programs.
- Excellent record of extracurricular involvement (e.g., case competitions, student government, community initiatives, etc.). The following will be considered assets if: Highly interested or have experience in accounting and/or financial markets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience developing compelling presentations and reports.
- Excellent teamwork and relationship building skills.
- A proven track record of being able to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, analyze and solve problems.
- Strong interest in processes and controls related to financial reporting.
- A proven ability to handle a broad range of activities with competing priorities.
- Strong relationship-building skills that will enable you to easily interact with clients, colleagues, and the wider community.
- A commitment to continual learning – developing new skills, taking on new responsibilities and broadening your knowledge through research.
- Relevant professional experience that can contribute to your knowledge of our key industries (an asset).
Cyber security Intern’s academic experience and technical skills:
- Familiar with Firewalls, Routing and Switching, Linux OS, Windows OS and/or MAC OS)
- Understanding and deep comprehension of cyber security governance
- Familiar with cloud security and data protection
- Familiar with incident response and forensic work
- Understanding security architecture
- Familiar with identity and access management
- An asset if familiar with SQL and/or 1 high-level programing language (ex: C++, Python and/or JAVA)
- Familiar with NIST, ISO, CIS, Mitre – An asset
