This is an excellent opportunity for post-secondary students to gain exposure to the insurance industry. Our program offers a variety of experiences across our insurance business unit. Aviva realizes the importance of crafting internships as a means to develop talent to meet future requirements for entry-level insurance roles.Aviva Canada has adopted a hybrid return-to-office model. This role will require you to work in the Markham office.We are looking for a driven, passionate student to join our Finance/Risk Sharing Pool Team team as a Finance Intern.What you’ll doObtaining reports and analyzing for the Underwriting teamReviewing and correcting data issuesReviewing ceded policies for renewal into the poolMaking necessary calls to Brokers for policy detail confirmations or requesting additional informationSupport the Risk Sharing Pool analyst for daily data validation checks and error detectionWe’re excited about you because:You’re passionate and thoughtful when it comes to offering an amazing customer experienceYou aren’t afraid to work in a dynamic environment and learn new processesOrganization is your strength and you love staying on top of projectsYou get creative when it comes to problem solvingYou’ll collaborative with teammates, have strong communication skills, and build relationships easilyWhat you need to succeed:Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or college diploma in preferably Business Administration/ Data AnalyticsDemonstrates a desire to go above and beyond and hunger to learn and growAbility to adjust with minimal supervision where priorities may shift due to changing business needsAbility to work in a team environmentStrong decision making, problem solving and analytical skillsStrong organizational and administrative skillsKnowledge of insurance policies, claims or data analytics considered an assetStrong verbal and written communicator with high caliber, professional business demeanorStrong decision making, problem solving and analytical skillsSignificant experience using Microsoft office programs (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)Have a minimum 2.75 GPA or B averagePlease limit your application to one role at the location of your choice based on your interests.
