The Finance Intern (Onsite at our St Thomas, ON office)Come build the future with us! We are looking for a dynamic team member who is passionate about finance, making an impact, and building a career with a leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of branded home improvement products.Reporting to the Assistant Controller, AP Manager, you will join a dynamic team that will help mold your financial acumen.What will you do?Product Costing:

  • Provide support to ensure product costs in our ERP system are reliable and up to date.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to complete process mapping of the costing process.
  • Prepare and communicate monthly cost reports.

Month End Reporting:

  • Provide support to ensure product costs in our ERP system are reliable and up to date.
  • Provide support and assist the Finance Team with month-end closing duties.
  • Support the finance team with the execution of various projects.

Process Improvement:

  • Assist with the development and launch of a new reporting tool to simplify and automate financial reporting.
  • Help develop and improve the balance sheet reconciliation processes.
  • Help develop and improve processes to communicate monthly spend to cross-functional departments.
  • Develop and maintain other process improvements for the Finance team.

What will you bring?

  • Registered as part of the co-op program at an Ontario-accredited University, preferably in the final year/s.
  • Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated project and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • High degree of initiative and motivation, and willingness to work proactively, either independently or within a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, & MS PowerPoint.
  • Computer savvy, able to quickly learn to use our internal software and tools.
