Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for a Communications Intern to join us in our Communications team based out of our office in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. This is a paid, full-time internship expected to run for a duration of 12 months.About the role
The Communications Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and actions in both internal and external communications. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with UCB Canada’s Leadership Team in defining and executing the Communications strategy to support our strategic ambition and leadership aspirations in the Canadian healthcare ecosystem.Who you’ll work with
This individual will collaborate with various internal departments (marketing, market access etc.) as well as external vendors to help drive UCB’s communications strategy.What you’ll do

  • Assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies and plans.
  • Support the creation and dissemination of internal and external communications, including newsletters, press releases, and social media content, and managing the Communications vendor.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
  • Help organize and coordinate events, meetings, and presentations.
  • Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts.
  • Provide administrative support to Communications as needed.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Previous internship or work experience in communications or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information within a regulated environment.
  • Bilingual in English/ French an asset.
