Job Description
The Facilities team is looking for a team player, who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty, try new things, with a willingness to learn!
This role is based on-site at our Ottawa facility.
As a Maintenance Helper, you can expect to:

Assist Certified and Licensed Team Members in performing minor repairs and maintenance to Facilities and related systems.

Perform inspections of Facilities and related systems using checklists and logs, provide documentation of findings and independently taking action to correct any findings or advising management as required.

Utilize the work order system and complete assignments in a timely manner ensuring they are completed on a priority basis.

Perform furniture/fixture/equipment (FFE) relocations and setups.

Verify and update equipment lists and assist with inventory management

Respond to routine on-demand service requests, emergency call-ins; and perform other related duties, as required.
Qualifications
- Equivalent to a Grade 12 level of education at an Ontario Secondary school, and enrollment in a post-secondary program.
- Requires 1+ year of related experience.
- Ability to use a computer and mobile device for work order system, email and training. Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and Excel.
- Demonstrated awareness of federal and provincial standards/codes related to maintenance and care of Facilities.
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a trades certification or license, an asset.
- Understanding of the proper and safe use of power tools and equipment.
- Valid provincial Drivers License.
Additional Information
Security Clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
