Job Summary:Under the supervision of licensed architects and project managers, you will play a vital role in the design and development of various project types.This position offers valuable hands-on experience and the chance to contribute to meaningful projects that positively impact the community.Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the project team to develop architectural designs and solutions for project types, including hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and long-term care facilities.
  • Assist in creating conceptual designs, space planning, and schematic design presentations.
  • Generate detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using computer-aided design (CAD) software and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
  • Conduct research on design guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Contribute to the preparation of design documents, technical specifications, and construction contract administration.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors to review project requirements, progress, and resolve design-related issues.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, interior designers, and client representative, to integrate functional and aesthetic considerations into architectural design solutions.
  • Assist in conducting site visits and assessments to gather data, verify compliance, and support construction administration activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in healthcare architecture, attending relevant industry seminars, workshops, and conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Eligibility for registration as an intern architect with the relevant provincial regulatory body.
  • Strong proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
  • Familiarity with BIM platforms and their implementation in project workflows.
  • Excellent understanding of healthcare design principles, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ability to generate accurate and detailed architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present design concepts effectively.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and LEED certification is desirable.
  • Prior experience or coursework in healthcare architecture or related field is an asset.
