We have an opportunity for two (2) Actuarial Science Co-op students to join the Actuarial Solutions team. We are looking for students that are hardworking, willing to take initiative, and are up for a challenge!

In this role, you will support the Actuarial Solutions team in preparing pension comparison illustrations and performing actuarial projections. You will be involved in a wide range of day-to-day tasks, internal projects, and special activities associated with the Plan’s growth initiative.

We are looking for students with the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Currently enrolled in Actuarial Science program or a related field and writing actuarial exams.
  • Previous work experience in pension valuation and/or administration is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Outlook.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and shift priorities in a deadline driven atmosphere.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Once here:

  • You will receive training on structure, regulatory environment and calculations involved in Defined Benefit pension plans.
  • You will provide support on data analysis for special projects and actuarial support around potential pension plan mergers and new employer onboardings.
  • You will be a key member of the actuarial team supporting the improvement of existing tools and bringing forth recommendations on new tools.
  • You will assist various teams to resolve complex pension related issues.
  • You will support strategic initiatives by providing actuarial analysis.
  • You will demonstrate creativity and innovation with problem solving, and identify opportunities to improve processes.
  • You will participate in team building and networking events.
