This position is exclusively for students enrolled in an accredited co-op program at a recognized post-secondary institution. We are only considering applications from 3rd or 4th-year students who are actively seeking a co-op placement as part of their degree requirements. Job Description

 

As a Modelling Co-op Student, your work will directly contribute to solving real-world environmental challenges. By assisting with data processing, interpretation, and numerical modelling, you will help shape the insights that drive sustainable water resource management. Your contributions will support industries such as agriculture, energy, mining, and environmental conservation, making a tangible difference in how we understand and protect natural resources.

 

Working alongside a team of scientists and engineers, you will apply your data analysis and modelling expertise to ensure project objectives are met. This hands-on experience will deepen your understanding of hydrogeology and hydrology, equipping you with the skills needed to impact the future of environmental research and technology.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up and running numerical models for hydrogeological and hydrological projects.
  • Process and interpret data, ensuring accuracy and relevance for ongoing projects.
  • Contribute to report writing, helping to compile results and findings in clear, concise formats.
  • Support various aspects of project delivery under the supervision of experienced team members.

Desired Skill Set

  • Familiarity with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, R).
  • Experience working with GIS tools.
  • Knowledge of numerical models for hydrogeology/hydrology applications (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong writing skills, with experience drafting technical reports.

Job Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited co-op program (3rd or 4th year).

✅ A collaborative team player with excellent communication abilities.
✅ An eye for detail and precision in data handling and reporting.
✅ Prior experience with GIS and modelling tools is an asset, but a willingness to learn is essential.
