Customer Support Junior Software Engineering Intern

You’ll get small work orders to put your coding skills into practice and write high-quality code for bug fixes and enhancements. Your responsibilities might include activities such as:

  • Respond to Email, phone or verbal requests from clients
  • Provide technical support to users by researching/answering questions and troubleshooting problems
  • Identify, log and escalate issues as required
  • Record all communication and results in the Tracking System
  • Lead & work with the Delivery and Product Team on small work orders
  • Write high quality code for bug fixes and enhancements for small work orders
  • Document user requirements, developing self-documented code, testing, creating user and system documents for any developed work orders and enhancements
  • Organize and manage releases with the deployment team for small work orders
  • Build, validate, and execute resolution plans with Delivery, Product and Engineering, QA or deployment team
  • Follow PureFacts Service Desk standard policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must-have experience:

  • Pursuing a University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent subject.
  • Experience with languages such as C#, JavaScript, Java/Scala, SQL
  • Be able to understand business needs and identify the best way to respond to it;
  • Detail oriented and able to assess situations logically;
  • Able to understand client issues and provide guidance on next steps
  • Able to manage client priorities and expectations
  • Be able to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a changing environment;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral or written) with external clients and internal team members at all levels;
  • Knowledge and experience of finance and wealth management is an asset.

Measurements of Success

  • Provide technical support to users by researching/answering questions and troubleshooting problems: Number of resolved support tickets, Average time taken to resolve issues, User satisfaction ratings from feedback surveys.
  • Identify, log and escalate issues as required: Accuracy and completeness of logged issues, Percentage of issues escalated appropriately.
  • Record all communication and results in the Tracking System: Consistency and accuracy of records in the tracking system, Timeliness of updates to the tracking system.
  • Lead & work with the Delivery and Product Team on small work orders: Number of successfully completed work orders, Feedback from team members on collaboration and leadership, Code quality metrics (e.g., code reviews, automated tests) , Number of bugs reported post-deployment, completeness and clarity of documentation.
