Lin is looking for a Summer Co-Op student to join our Whitby, ON office for the Summer of 2025. As an intern on our City Solutions Team, you’ll gain the opportunity to immerse yourself in diverse municipal infrastructure projects such as roads, sewars, water mains, and other land development projects. This Co-Op is your chance to be part of a collaborative community where you can expand your knowledge and sharpen your skills through hands-on meaningful work.Responsibilities & QualificationsWhat You Will Do

  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and project schedules
  • Assist with the preparation of feasibility studies, functional plans, and preliminary/detailed designs for private and municipal infrastructure in support of land development projects
  • Prepare full sets of civil engineering drawings, such as grading, servicing, plans and profiles, erosion & sedimentation control plans, and others, in support of land development projects
  • Assist in preparing contract specifications and tender packages, including quantity take-offs and cost estimates
  • Assist in applying for and obtaining the necessary permits and approvals to proceed with construction
  • Assist with and provide regular progress status reports, as required

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to efficiently prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear documentation and interacting professionally with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also able to effectively collaborate in a team environment
  • Strong commitment to integrity, consistently demonstrating ethical, fair, and responsible behavior
  • Commitment to innovation and continuous learning, with a passion for acquiring new skills and driving improvements

Your Education and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
  • Familiarity with Civil3D, MicroStation, and ArcGIS
  • Knowledgeable with AutoCAD
