With our KPMG global network, we leverage our technical knowledge in Canadian and international customs legislation as well as business acumen to provide cutting-edge results.Our Vancouver office is seeking an undergraduate student to join the team as a summer intern starting May 2025
What you will doThroughout the summer internship, you’ll work on client engagements and have access to training, professional development, and innovative learning experiences. From reviewing business processes to analyzing trade data, you’ll be building strong relationships with our people and developing professional skills that will help set you up for success.Working with the Trade & Customs team requires candidates to be interested in developing experience in various industry sectors, data analytics, customs policy, or global supply chain. As a member of our Trade & Customs Practice, you will have exposure to complex customs compliance issues, Canadian trade initiatives, such as Free Trade Agreements, and provide support to other tax professionals.During this summer internship, you will:

  • Support team members who assist clients with various customs matters
  • Perform technical research
  • Perform customs duties analysis
  • Create client presentations, reports, and summaries of findings.
  • Stay informed on current and pending import/export regulations and policy
  • Review import data and customs documentation for accuracy

NOTE: Please note that this position does NOT support the CPA designation.

  • Currently studying in a business degree, specialization in international business management, international trade or trade & customs would be considered an asset
  • Must have taken courses in accounting
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Consistent attention to detail

KPMG BC Region Pay Range InformationThe expected base salary range for this position is $45,000 – $60,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills, & competencies, and unique qualifications.
