This internship is 4 months in length, working on day shift, starting May 2025.We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Intern who are interested in working side-by-side with experienced Lean Practitioner professionals. Our student Interns are given a unique experience as they learn the ropes and attain newfound competencies. Interns are exposed to on-the-job challenges as they work on hands-on tasks, undergo training, and have the opportunity to work on special projects. Position Responsibilities:
- Gathers data and information
- Work a lean project
- Work with Lean Practitioners to assist with facilitation of lean events and workshops
- Understand and apply the concept of Lean Principles
- Apply Problem Solving skills in the work area
- Perform audits as 5S or Tier Effectiveness
- Desktop/Standards creation
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Winnipeg, MB.Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student with an accredited college
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft office products Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
- Must have strong analytical skills
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
- Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Prefer previous internship experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access
- Experience working within a manufacturing company
- Prefer students registered in a technical program
