FRP is organized into 4 super-sectors, Technology, Media and Telcom (TMT), Healthcare, Industrials & Materials (I&M), and Consumer, with each team led by a sector head responsible for stock selection and active management of a global public equities portfolio.ABOUT YOUR ROLEAs an Intern, Global Alpha, Fundamental Research Platform, Healthcare, you’ll:Conduct sector & stock analysis as directed by the Super-sector HeadAs directed by the Senior Manager:– Perform thematic research or a sub-sector review
– Perform analysis on selected stocks– Build tools to support the team research efforts (screens, quant tools)Assist the Team in:
– Building financial and valuation models on companies and sectors of interest
– Developing investment theses and presenting recommendations tailored to each equity strategyGain broad exposure through cross-sector mandates by being assigned to projects in rotation through sector teamsWHAT YOU’LL NEEDCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce – Finance option; orCurrently enrolled in a master’s or MBA program, concentration in Finance or other related fieldsHigh academic achievementSuperior level of proficiency with business software and analytical tools, including strong Excel skills and at least moderate knowledge of BloombergDemonstrate initiative and curiosity to look beyond surface facts to provide comprehensive, value-added researchAbility to work autonomously on specific assignments while being cognizant of the need to involve senior team membersStrong interpersonal and communication (spoken and written) skills to present findings and recommendationsEnthusiasm and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesMust return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculumGood communications skills in English and French (or willingness to learn) *Regular interactions in English with investment partners based outside of Quebec Example: peers, bankers, brokerage firms, etc. and PSP employees in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa.Candidates must have the right to work in Canada* for the period specified to be considered for this position.
