The Pharmacy Trainee will contribute to the day-to-day operation of essential Pharmacy drug distribution and support services, under the supervision of staff Pharmacists, Technicians and overall supervision by the Manager of Operations. Duties may include sterile and non-sterile compounding, barcoding and receiving, stock check and replenishment, operation of automated equipment, and other drug distribution related activities. All roles are essential in providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and others by ensuring that health and safety policies and regulations are followed.On a practical level, you will
- Contribute to the day-to-day operation of essential Pharmacy drug distribution and support
- Sterile and non-sterile compounding, barcoding and receiving, stock check and replenishment, operation of automated equipment, and other drug distribution related activities
- Providing a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and others by ensuring that health and safety policies and regulations are followed
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program that is accredited by CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs)
- Currently registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists and is in the process of completing requirements for registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) with the aim to obtaining RPhT designation within 6 months of hire
- Experience in Hospital Pharmacy strongly preferred
- Experience with IV admixtures an asset
- Effective written and verbal communicative skills
- Knowledge of Pharmaceutical math
- Attention to detail
- Computer skills
- Adaptability
- Well organized
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset

This is a Full Time Temporary position for approximately 12 months, with 75 hours bi-weekly, 8 hour shifts, days/evenings shifts, including weekends in Pharmacy Services.
